Wow! Everyone is ignoring these clips, it seems! Maybe because so many people here disliked the previous Hulk film?? Well, do yourself a favor and check out these clips! It's Marvel's Hulk as you always wanted to see him! Even the Abomination looks and sounds right, now they've tweaked the CGI since that first underwhelming trailer....

I saw them, but I pretty much feel like I did about the first film. It's like watching a video game. I'll stick w/ Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno, thanks.

I don't understand the "looks like a video game" criticism. It's just a new special effects technique, just like stop motion or cell animation or prosthetic make-up effects or animatronic puppetry were all new techniques in their day.

By the same token, watching the old Hulk TV show is like watching video footage of Lou Ferrigno with a toupe and green make-up that washes off in the rain or around his sweat spots. Because, you know, that's what it is! The only question that matters (to me) is... is it any good or not? And the new Hulk movie looks awesome.

The new CGI Hulk is better than the first one but still looks like a CGI cartoon or video game character layered into a live action movie.

CGI does not look "real" to people because unlike stop motion puppets or make effects, it is not an actual physical object. The CGI Hulk never truly comes off as actually interacting with the physical objects in the scene.

CGI is a great effects technique when used correctly or sparingly but not for characters (especially human or human like characters) in live action movies.

Maybe one day CGI will get to the level of fooling the human eye/brain with computer generated characters. But it's still got a very long way to go to do that.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Well, video games don't use puppetry, stop motion animation, or animitronics, they use CGI, just like video games. And I'm sorry, but that scene where the Hulk is beating up that alien thing looks just like a video game. Personally, I would rather see actors w/ prosthetic make-up, which is why I brought up the classic Lou Ferrigno Hulk.

              Just my opinion.

I'm not checking out the clips because I'm not the type that really
gets into previews---but you can count me as a vote for modern SFX
while many were criticizing them a decade or more ago, I was already
happy with them---I think anything else looks more fake to me
(guys in costumes, puppets etc.)---video games look real enough in comparison---
I'm sure this new HULK is stuff I'd find cool.

Yeah, I love special effects in general, so I'm impressed when they're used effectively to tell a good story. I love the old Sinbad movies, and Clash of the Titans, even though those are clearly tiny models being animated. I love the Planet of the Apes movies, even though those are clearly rubber/plastic make-up appliances glued onto people's faces, etc. The "physical object" point doesn't wash with me, because the physical objects in question -- models, make-up, wires, whatever -- are still fake.

With CGI, similar technology is used in video games as is used in movies like the new Hulk, but the degree of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and most importantly, emotional impact with the use of CGI in movies cause it to stand out as something different and apart from video games, even the best of which are pixelated and awkwardly animated IMO.

And anyone who believes realistic characters cannot be computer generated should take a look at the new Narnia movie, Prince Caspian. The goatmen, fauns, minotaurs etc. blend in seamlessly with the human actors and the backgrounds, and after five minutes you forget you're even looking at special effects and you just go along with the story. I hope the new Hulk uses the technology as effectively.

I don't know why people like the Bixby/Ferrigno Hulk, I HATED that show.

It was slow (all that bloody boring slow-motion action scenes), tedious, and the Hulk was weak as hell...couldn't even take a bloody bullet for crying out loud.

This new Hulk movie is just like the comic books, looks pretty damn good and powerful to me...yes...a bit CGI-looking, but better than the previous Hulk movie and definitely superior to the green-painted Ferrigno television version.

I'm definitely gonna check it out.

Here's a quick synopsis of the clips, in case anyone doesn't want to look at them but doesn't mind MILD SPOILERS. As told by the Hulk himself:

Hulk have bulgey muscles. Hulk like Liv Tyler. She hot. Hulk no like rockets. Hulk try smash Tim Roth like bug. Tim too fast for Hulk. Tim do back flips and crazy kung fu dodge. Then Tim turn into Abomination. Hulk SMASH Abomination. THE END.

I hate this Abomination. It is another director taking liberties and ruining a franchise. And I don't just mean how bad he looks. His entire backstory has been changed, as well.
