Yes, are you going to keep the kids and get rid of the toys, or visa versa? A tough decision, but it has to be made.

To keep or not to keep?

This is a real tough dilemma for a collector some times. I like most was faced with this dilemma quite some time ago. My resolve was to build a BIG garage to put all my stuff in. This garage is separate from my garage with my cars. This garage is just for my collectibles. The garage cost me 30K and in retrospect the stuff that I am storing probably isn't worth that much. Yet, the bulk of my collection is out of the main house. I am not sure and only time will tell about the value of my collectibles. I have yet to actually sit down and do a cost analysis on the worth of what I have collected. For me personally I do not care as I know if something should happen to any of it that one it is insured and two I can always buy more. Again I like collecting for the fun of it and I am not that profit motivated. Paying for storage can be a waste of $$$. I been there and done that. This is why I decided to have another garage built. I used to store one of my sports cars in a nice 24 hour accessible climate controlled storage unit. It saved a lot of mileage driving it to places that I frequently traveled. It was a savings to me by saving mileage on my sports car. I spent a couple of hundred and some change every month to store the car. It saved money in one way by me not having to put a lot of mileage on that car and by not having to spend 60K to buy another one so soon. In the same token while I was there at the storage unit facility I seen people loose their aces time and time again. Some people have a hard time letting go. A lot of times I seen people with what would seem like junk to me pay on their storage units for several months only to end up loosing everything in the end anyway. My advice is unless you are doing well financially and or have a business to offset the cost of the storage unit go for it. Other wise for an individual's use I really do not think that you will come out a winner. The value of the stuff that you store will eventually be consumed by your monthly storage rental. Therefore, making your collectible worth next to nil. One immediately thinks about going the piece rate on eBay. I personally feel that it is time consuming listing a bunch of auctions, taking pictures of tons of stuff and the seller fees can really add up over time. Plus the fact that eBay is sucking more and more all of the time and we are currently and have been for a while now in a buyers market. Meaning you will sell the items that you have for much less than what you gave for them typically. I know that it is hard to fathom this, but in all reality in most cases one may be best to donate to a charitable organization and let them deal with the moving. After all you are giving it to them for FREE. Some charitable organizations will pick up for FREE. You can use it as a tax write off. You will not have to deal with the hassle of moving it. Of course the end choice is always yours. One can continue to hold onto their cherished belongings as long as they possibly can. However, sooner or later something will definitely need to be done. In most cases sooner than later. Best of luck to you with your decision making process. I do hope that my above logic made sense whether you decide to act upon the information given and utilize it or not.

          Yeah good on ya Bobs

It is just plain common sense to have plenty minimual space for your house and keep the stuffs that are valuable and worth keeping and also that you are really into it as a hobby.

I will never forget that I sold my huge collection of Masters of the Universe sets for a nice song off ebay. At first I was rather hestiated with emotions about it and after wards really glad that I got rid of it.

My clutter is nothing like the sound of yours. It looks like a emergency sell out for you too Be strong Bobs and give up the stuff that you don't need in life and make it some one's else treasure.

By the way.. Amongst in your clutter any chances of a Lex Luthor 12" mego figure for grabs smiles......

Good luck and you can do it mate

The whole reason I got back into toys was because I didn't see any point in keeping stuff in storage where nobody can look at it. I have restricted myself to Megos/Fighting Furies-Lesney\ and Vintage Starwars, plus a few random odds and ends from childhood. Everything else is gone or in the process of going. For financial reasons I have to place a limit on my collecting, also I like to stick to the toylines I truly loved as a kid. I feel a lot better about it now that I have set up these restrictions. I can't stand clutter, and also my girlfriend is much more understanding.

If you want any vintage starwars stuff to have a good home let me know. When getting rid of toys it does feel better to give/sell it to someone who will like it rather than the thrift shop.
