    Toygiants

Does anyone here happen to have this book?

Amazon.com: ToyGiants: The Silver Edition: Daniel Fuchs, Geo Fuchs: Books

It's an art photography book with pictures of toys. It looks like it's really good with a mix of mostly new stuff from a variety of genres, but I hate to risk $40 on a blind book purchase. One review I found through Google raved about it, though.

Like you, I wouldn't mind knowing a little more about it before laying down $40. If someone here buys it I'd love to hear a review.

I've been thinking about doing some ditigital photos of toys from completly different era/toy lines interacting with each other for quite some time now. I like the idea, and I am inspired by the mix of toys in a childrens toybox and how a child using his/her imagination could think of ways to have them inhibit the "same universe". This book looks a little too political for my taste's, I don't need/want your social commentary just give me toys dammit.

ToyGiants was put together by an active poster on the KidRobot forums, and has some amazing pics in it. but if you're still unsure, you might try and check out your closest Urban Outfitters as the last time I was there they had that book on clearance for 12 bucks.

Argh. No Urban Outfitters anywhere near me. I'd buy it blind for $12... anyone want to pick one up for me?

I'm not sure it's the same Danny Fuchs as the Superman collector. Maybe it's his son?

Danny Fuchs...The Superman Man as we used to call him at Comic Book Conventions and Toy Shows here on the East Coast/New York Metro Area. Nice guy and amazing Superman collections. Haven't seen him at shows recently though.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                The beauty that surrounds them
                Isn't it a pity".

They have a store on Powell Street. I rarely go downtown but maybe my friend who is visiting might want to go there. If I do, I'll check for the book and pick-up a copy if it's on sale for $12.

It's no problem. My friend leaves on Friday and only day we might have a chance to go downtown is on Thursday. I'll send you a PM if at the end of the week if I'm lucky to get a copy.

Steve, I just got back from Urban Outfitters. I'm sorry they didn't have the book available at the store here. Hopefully, you'll be able to find it else where. Anyway, I also sent you a PM.

Thank you very much for checking, Michael.

If anyone else out there has an Urban Outfitters nearby, I'd appreciate if you could keep your eyes open for Toygiants for me.
