I left home and moved in with my girlfriend and future wife in her ghetto house on the north end of Flint MI. The landlord was busted for running numbers and the IRS seized his property. Evicted! Good times....Comment

As a younger kid I had thought about going the apartment route many of times like most often do. Fortunately, for me I got along really well with my parents and I never was a problem for them. Since I got along so well with my parents I had officially moved out a bit later than most kids. During that time I had saved my money instead of wasting it on an apartment. I met a girl that I really liked. We hit it off well and we started going out. She lived in an apartment when I first met her. She invited me to live with her while my house was being built. I lived with her for a very short time while my house was being custom built. It was only for a short time though as I could not get used to or was not able to withstand the apartment life. Still to this day am not sure how others can deal with it. I guess that it is all a matter of what one gets used to. My gf lived in a pretty nice apartment complex when we met although there was still all of the people getting up for work "real early" and slamming doors or atleast it sounded like they were slamming them every morning. Then there were those coming in real late at night. Pretty much all hours of the day I suppose. Then there was the yard maint. crew trimming the trees outside the window, cutting the grass and weed eating every couple of days. Which was good that the grounds were kept nice. It sucked for someone like me that is a night owl and likes their sleep and likes an occasional power nap or two during the day. Then there was the parking chaos and the list goes on and on. I moved back home for a short while as I am always more than welcome to stay at my parents house. I lived at the lake house during the nice weather. My gf finally came around to my way of thinking and I talked her into ditching her apartment IF she wanted me staying with her which she did. We ended up getting a luxury condo which was much better than the apartment life IMO. Still not like owning your own house with property on all four sides though. The peace, the quiet and tranquility. The main house was finally completed and ready to move in. What a blessing that was.
We ended up keeping the condo as well for vacation purposes.

Mine was an upstairs flat two blocks away from my folks. Me and my girl were there for maybe 8 months before getting out. The old lady renting the place turned out to be a drug dealer and we had mice. Not a great memory, but helps us appreciate the home we live in now.Check out my website: Megozine Covers - HomeComment

College Dorm also. During my Junior year in college, I moved back home and commuted to university each day (about a 1 hour drive) to save on student loan debt.
My wife and I grew up in the same small town. My wife found a job and her parents promptly told her she needed to leave but also made it clear that we were not to live together unless we wanted to pay for our entire wedding by ourselves. My parents also did not want us to shack up together so we found a one room apartment in town because she felt uncomfortable finding a roommate whom she wouldn't know and I arranged to help pay for her rent and pay a small rent to stay with my parents until we were married. Luckily, I found a job in the same town and I would go over to her apartment after work, we would have dinner together and I would leave in the evening so that we weren't technically "living together" which seemed acceptable to everyone.
We continued to live in the apartment for a few months after we married until our first home (a townhouse was built)."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."
