    RIP Fats Domino...

One of the founding fathers of Rock 'n' Roll has gone on to the great big "Jam" in the sky. One of my favorites from early Rock 'n' Roll. RIP Fats.

Always been a fan of him but having lost a close family member this year, seeing celebrities I have never met is much less impactful on me these days.
    A true music icon.

One of my Mom's favorites when she was a teen growing up. Heard him a lot on Happy Days when I was a kid too. RIP.

I'm embarrassed to say I had no idea he was even still alive. Certainly a rock pioneer. Hope he rests in peace under Blueberry Hill.

For a big man he lived a really long life --- and on top of that everybody loved him

I remember liking him a lot during the 50s scare of the 1970s. His music was great and he always seemed like a really good guy.

I recall McCartney talking about how thrilled the Beatles were to meet Fats in the 60s. Paul remembered hi wearing a big star shaped diamond watch.

              RIP Fats.

If memory serves me I think the inspiration for the album 'Venus and Mars' was in part Fats and that New Orleans sound/feeling. I think while in the studio down in New Orleans he met up with Fats and Allan Toussaint.
