Finally got around to checking this out on DVD.. wasn't expecting much given that now infamous South Park ep and some lousy reviews I read, not to mention a couple thumbs down from friends..

Anyway, I thought the first 20 mins or so were almost laughably bad. It didn't really get much better from there. Yeah, there are a couple scenes along the way where it ALMOST feels like an Indy movie (y'know, with Ford not sounding completely embarassed delivering the constantly clunky dialogue), but not nearly enuff to elevate it near the stature of the other films.

What's also hilarious is the interview bonus feature on the main DVD.. basically it's 15 mins of Spielberg, Lucas and others (tho mainly Spielberg) babbling about how they collectively had no clue (or consensus) about the script, story, or even the title.

    Dude.. it showed

Looking at my review in this thread (on the previous page)

I can't believe I had the chutzpah to say "I loved the movie"

Maybe I was overstating a bit

I liked it...but the fridge/nuclear blast bit was a bit to much for me to swallow...much more so than the ending about the...well...you know (I just don't wanna disclose any spoilers).

To me, the "fridge" part was cut and dry "classic Indy".

Then again, so was the raft falling from the airplane onto the
          snowy mountain (in TOD).

To me, the Indy movies are more about "Wow, that was unique"
or "spectacular" rather than "Wow, that looked like a realistic event"
when it comes to "action" segments.

That fridge should have instantly melted and blown into a trillion particles, not flung to safety with him inside, lol.

The fridge scene didn't bother, though it was ridiculous. Only the Tarzan type scene really bugged me. I liked the movie, but I didn't love it.

I liked it. Labeouf wasn't even as cringe worthy as I thought he would be. Loved seeing Marion again and I thought the ending was just fine.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
