Dumb question for any music fan

Ok, now get ready for a really dumb question

I always wondered what musical instrument made this sound ... 00:14 --- 00:18

It usually appears after he sings the main title throughout the song.

Is it a keyboard or somekind of a blow instrument ?

    Thanks

    A Melodica?
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

See Kenny G. I think it's the same that he plays on ALL of his albums. Great song BTW.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
      The beauty that surrounds them
      Isn't it a pity".

      - "Isn't It A Pity"
      By George Harrison

I can't find any specifics on the internet as to what specific instruments were played on this song. it sounds like a wind instrument to me, but I really don't know.

It's a bass oboe. No doubt whatsoever.

Great song and, yeah, I'd say it's a wind instrument of some sort. If you could find the credits for the album that song is on, it might verify what instrument it is...

Hmmm. Googled it and it doesn't list any credits for any type of wind instrument, but it was likely something being played by one of the nameless studio musicians that worked in those days.

Yeah, oboe was my first thought. That penetrating vibrating sound, right?

I'm no expert though. enyawd probably knows best. Maybe it could be a different wood instrument, like a sax with a higher pitch and a mute on it or something - which I think would probably be closer to what Kenny G plays, from what I've heard (as Blue Meanie suggested).

^I only know because my sister was in band for six years. She played soprano sax and her BFF played bass oboe. They used to practice together constantly and drove us all nuts. It sounded like a goose having violent sex with another goose.
