Wow, Harry Knowles had obesity surgery

Kind of surprising, I don't know why. But good for him. There are legions of overweight geeks in need of a role model. I used to be twice my size and everytime I go to Comic-Con I want to stage a mass intervention.

It's good that diabetes scared him into doing something positive, I had similiar experiences years back that set me straight although I was never more than a 2XL.

Good for Harry, I like the big red machine.

He's gonna lose a lot of weight, he might develop sagging extra skin (due to the fast weight loss)...more surgery.

      I wish him the best.

As a citizen of Austin, a member of the local fan community, and a close friend of a sometime "enemy"/detractor of the Knowles camp, I've had my share of encounters -- both negative and positive -- with Big Red. Recently, he and his dad really liked our unofficial comic book sequel to the Sword & the Sorcerer, and Harry seems to have moved on from being angry with or dismissive of my friend (a screenwriter and horror author). Anyway, I'm happy he's slimming down and beating Type 2 diabetes.

Same surgery I had in February. Same reason too. Either get the surgery or start shootin insulin. Pretty much cleared up the diabetes issue in about two weeks. Not even on pills anymore. He was heavier than I was. He's probably a lot shorter too. He must have looked incredibly large. I've never been larger than a 3xl. I still wear some 3XL and some 2XL. Don't know if I could ever let myself reach 7XL. That would be difficult. Hope he realizes that it's still a lot of work even with the surgery. I don't really concentrate so much on the weight loss as I do the sugar levels, but it can be very difficult for some. It works great at first when you're on the liquids, but when you work back to regular food you still have to control yourself. Hope it works for him. It was great for what I was looking to do.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.
