I've been a pro wrestling fan since I was little and attended many live events. My son, however, who has been a fan for about eight years, has never been to a live event. So...I just got us tickets for WWE Smackdown in Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 29th! 6th row ringside. I WANTED 1st row, but they were a heart-attack inducing $450 each!

I chatted with yer son at the Mego Meet last year about wrasslin'. He's a cool kid. Have fun guys!Check out my website: Megozine Covers - Home -
WWE's pricing is absurd, especially for front row or comparable seats. It's a shame they've reached that level for everything.
That said, hope your son has fun. Smackdown is actually pretty good these days so it might be worth seeing! Have fun.Comment

I went back to back in March for a SD house show then SD live the next day. Both nights were fun. House shows are better if you are a total "old school" fan as you just get the wrestling without the TV restrictions. The ringside costs so much because they "ringsider" packages which they bundle extras in with the ticket, which from what I hear is not worth. I only spend amounts like that for PPV's & WrestleMania and even then it's more around the $300 range. I'll be going to Battleground in Philly next.Comment

that's awesome Joe. as a young teenager I went and saw the WWF many times at the local civic center. got to meet a lot of the wrestlers as they left out behind the place too.Comment

I did get to see WWF in the eighties in the front row and again at the 3rd row and being that close is so amazing. Years later I was in the stands for Flair vs Piper and it wasnt as amazing being so far away. I was able to see Big Japan Pro in Japan at the Korakuen Hall a couple of months ago and it was fantastic. I need to make it to more live events.
Have a great time!Comment

When I was a kid, I used to go to see Central States Championship Wrestling (an NWA territory) in Quincy, Illinois, in a high school gym. Tickets were $5 for bleacher seats, and a whopping $6 for ringside. I almost always had front row tickets. Though the production was definitely low rent, I saw a lot of amazing talent over the years. Harley Race, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Andre the Giant, Bruiser Brody, the Von Erichs, and more. Got a lot of autographs and photos, too!--

You guys should both have a great time! I went to a few in the mid to late 80'salways had a blast. My son just went to one a few months back and he was surprised they stopped the action for commercial breaks, usually after a ring entrance and the wrestlers would just stand in the ring waiting. But one of the times was with 2 divas that were on the mat when it went to commercial and just laid there in the grapple until commercial was over. Enjoy!!
For the love of Mego'sComment

We just had a RAW house show a couple weeks ago here. It's always fun to go out with the guys, but like Nostalgiabuff said, some of the most entertaining parts are seeing the wrestlers leave after the show. It's been years since they're done an actual televised show here (decades for a PPV) but the last one was Bret Hart Appreciation Night. After the show, we went around back and Bret came right up to the fence to talk with us a shake hands, which was awesome. We also saw Bray Wyatt, Bo Dallas Eric Rowen and Luke Harper share a ride (which we dubbed the 'Carpool of Villany') and bunch of others. For the house show in the fall, Seth Rollins came over and actually did pictures and autographs with us in the parking lot. We also had a memorable encounter with Chris Jericho, who told us all to "shut up" and flipped us off when he drove awayComment

My brother Mike treated the two of us to a Smackdown house show back in May. The matches were all great and we both had tons of fun. I've been to live airings of RAW and some TNA Impact tapings over the years, including one Impact taping where I kicked off an arena wide chant!!Comment

Growing up, I used to get backstage all the time at WWF events. Why? My step-dad is from the Island of Tonga. Thus, he knew Tonga Fifita (better known as Haku in the WWF). By far, the nicest guy I ever met was the late-great "Ravishing" Rick Rude (superb guy). The rudest guy I ever met was Taylor Taylor (figures, The Red Rooster). The most boring: that title went to Marty Jannetty of "The Rockers." I wanted to meet Shawn Michaels, but they said he was "too shy." Go figure?!?!?!?Comment
