To be clear, this man invented the 80s "Real American Hero" GIJoe. The 60s and 70s 12" figures creator was Don Levine. RIP.

Weston birthed the original 12" Joe, Captain Action and had a lot to do with the Mego WGSH.

Levine was a Hasbro employee who definitely had a lot to do with Joe but Weston is the guy who sold the concept.

RIP Stan. He didn't work on the 80s line, that was pretty much Larry Hama for the concept.

Yeah, I think if I recall, Hassenfeld wanted Joe to make a comeback but didn't know how and Hama was working on a S.H.I.E.L.D comic that eventually became the RAH team?

I don't think it can be understated how important this man was. We owe him a hellvua lot. The guy helped spawn the idea for the Superfriends.

Yep, the whole concept was SHIELD originally.

Bob Prupis was the driving force behind bringing back GI JOE. Kirk Bozigian was the product manager of RAH and Ron Rudat was the figure designer.

Hama took his SHIELD concept and changed it to give Hasbro a storyline as I recall. Same thing happened with Transformers, but that was Bob Budiansky with some input from Denny O'Neil (who named Optimus Prime).

I was lucky in 2007 to get one of my Adventure Team joe boxes signed by Don Levine, Sam Speers and Sam Petrucci...Joe Convention in Atlanta, GA....The 3 most important people in the birth of GI Joe and making him what he is today...Just sorry I never got my picture taken with these 3 men....
