Stan Weston, G.I. Joe Inventor, Dies at 84
Tags: None -
To be clear, this man invented the 80s "Real American Hero" GIJoe. The 60s and 70s 12" figures creator was Don Levine. RIP."Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Weston birthed the original 12" Joe, Captain Action and had a lot to do with the Mego WGSH.
Levine was a Hasbro employee who definitely had a lot to do with Joe but Weston is the guy who sold the concept.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

Bob Prupis was the driving force behind bringing back GI JOE. Kirk Bozigian was the product manager of RAH and Ron Rudat was the figure designer.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

Most of us owe many fun memories to him. May he rest in peace

Hama took his SHIELD concept and changed it to give Hasbro a storyline as I recall. Same thing happened with Transformers, but that was Bob Budiansky with some input from Denny O'Neil (who named Optimus Prime).Bob Prupis was the driving force behind bringing back GI JOE.
