well, i had hoped that this one would slip through.

Unfortunately, re-enactment and martial arts use are 2 of the dispensations allowing importing of these types of sword and you have to supply written proof.

I have told them that it's a non-lethal replica of a movie weapon but no go.

I also had my eye on a really nice cavalry sabre but that's out of the question now too.
Maybe i should take up Kendo?

I tried them, they've got a Highlander Katana ( Duncan's, i think ) but you have to supply proof that you are legally entitled to buy it.

you know, that if it's in customs right now...and he has it sent back to whereever it came from and reshipped..it's probably red flagged..his address..you know? wonder if customs does things like that? anyone know? just a thought...

It may get stopped again but if i get the blade shortened to the legal limit they'll have to let through. It was only stopped this time because the blade is over 50cm.
