it's gonna be a whopper. we are expecting upwards of 2 feet. I just hope we don't lose power, because it is going to be cold too

        Man, I hate losing power

Around these parts if somebody farts too loud the power will go out.

I hear you Mike. we lose power often too. we always say we are going to buy a generator but so far have not gotten around to it. it just sucks because if we lose power we not only lose heat, we lose water as we are on a well. as I have gotten older I have come to really, really hate winter

Looking at a possible 18" here in Central Pa. Went to the store today, made sure we were stocked up on the basics...beer & bbq chips!
What I dread most is the digging out afterward...when the city snowplow takes that 18" of snow and pushes it into a 4' pile of packed ice at the end of the drive. And the days of enterprising local youth shovelling sidewalks are long past! My back's aching just thinking about it!

As ready as I am going to be. They're calling for up to 24 inches here in NYC, but I figure it will be a bit less.

I had to cut my grass about 8 days ago when it was 75. We are actually suppose to get below freezing tomorrow night.

Central Ohio was told 1-3", but I'm not sure we'll see that, or if it will even stick if it does fall. My kids were looking forward to their first snow day of the school year. Oh, well.

Best wishes to you folks on the east coast. Stay safe, and don't overdo the shoveling - no heart attacks!

Yes. Here in Maryland we are supposed to get a lot. I'm all stocked up but getting supplies was a pain.

Here in the North Western tip of the Bronx (known as Riverdale), its 28 degrees and I'm getting heavy snow, then sleet and back to snow. It's supposed to continue for a few more hours. It's messy, but we did walk the two blocks to the diner for breakfast. Now we're back home and staying here until morning.

I had an important meeting with the government yesterday, half the people conferenced in from home because of the "blizzard". I don't think we're getting any of it. What i have on my driveway isn't shovel worthy.....

I just got in from shoveling between 2-3 feet of snow depending how it's drifted. I couldn't push the snow to get my front door open. I am exhausted and I'm only about half finished... And it's still snowing.
