^Sorry to hear that. He hasn't been on as much in the last several years, so I'm not surprised.

Ugh, I'm teary as I type this. TCM means so much to me, and Robert was the heart and soul of the channel. He'd been on medical leave for several months. I'll miss him deeply, I learned a lot from him as a host, he has my respect and admiration.

I'll miss him deeply; I wish I hadn't learned of this here. RIP sir.

May he rest in peace. I had missed him on TCM as of late.

Very sad. He's been a staple for so long. I'm always disappointed when it isn't him introducing the film. I was afraid he must be pretty sick recently. I actually met him at one of their road shows for North By Northwest a few years back. He was quite striking in person, as well as very nice.

That's very lucky of you; I always wanted to go to the TCM Film Festival and meet him.

Most celebrities wouldn't mean anything to me, but he did. I was kind of in awe.

Aww, man. I've watched TCM more in the last year than in all previous years combined. I loved watching him talk about movies, and talk to movie people. I hadn't really made the connection that I hadn't seen him in awhile since they have other hosts, but he was looking a bit frail of late. Will definitely miss his movie introductions and interviews.

He had that special "Walter Cronkite" I'm-in-your-living-room-with-you quality. I hope TCM institutes a regular " Introduced by Robert Osborne" retro-feature in their line-up. Not ghoulish, but in homage/appreciation.

I'm getting old and sentimental, I just cried like a baby at his televised eulogy on TCM by Mankiewicz.

Ben has some nice things to say, too in the Hollywood Reporter that I swear I didn't plagiarize: fans just think alike sometimes.

This is a shame. I've enjoyed his work, and felt that he was exactly what a TV host should be: warm, engaging, knowledgeable, and a fan of the material he's covering. I'll miss him.

Very sad news indeed. Mr. Osbourne was a very nice man. I met him a couple of times and he always took a few minutes of his time to make the conversation meaningful. Knowing that he'd been in declining health over the last year, sort of prepared me for the inevitable but it doesn't feel help me to feel any less sad that he won't be around any more.

I think Mankiewicz is a wonderful host as well and a worthy individual to carry the torch.
If I had only spent a tenth of the time studying Physics that I spent learning Star Wars and Baseball trivia, I would have won the Nobel Prize.
