Jack was informed when he got off the island that his father had a daughter who was also on Oceanic Flight 815...and her name was Claire. That explains why he had a hard time dealing with Aaron during the first few flash-forwards. Obviously Aaron is a reminder of the sister he never knew existed as well as a reminder that his father had more going on than met the eye.

I'm still a big fan and it's still my favorite show, but it's starting to dawn on me that they don't intend to tie everything up with a reasonable explanation.

For the first couple of seasons... they, the producers, were saying that everything odd happening had a scientific explanation or was at least grounded in psuedo-science. Since a lot of strange stuff was going on, I was intrigued to watch to see how they could pull it off.

It seems now that they have backed off that and have gone full-throttle sci-fi this season.

I love sci-fi, don't get me wrong (hey, i'm posting on the Mego boards...), but I feel a little cheated.

Same here. At first watch it looked to be a pretty good series. Then I kind of lost interest over time. I missed one show, then two and then the next thing I said the heck with it as I became LOST as well after that point. That and besides the fact that I am not big into TV unless it is something REALLY good say like Desperate Housewives or something of that nature.

I still like it. I really liked the flashforwards but agree it is getting old.

I think with just a season left they don't want to spend half of the season explaining what happened to them after they were rescued.

I suspect the last episode will show what happens to the survivors who never made it back and end there. There will be no reason to have a prologue because we already know what happens to the 6 remaining survivors.

I kind of like the idea of knowing that only 6 make it back and am trying to guess what happens to the rest of them.
