I always loved "People's Court." He was the original "Judge Judy." His no-nonsense approach was the best! You knew he had to be in his late 90's! Anyone who had dated Lana Turner, had to be old!
That's too bad... I always used to watch "The People's Court" back when he was on it... Not sure what ever happened to his bailiff Rusty Burrell, but his "in the hall interviewer" Doug Llewelyn (sp?) is back on the show as of this season...

I get what you're saying, but I think he would have disagreed with that: I know he and Judge Judy had a few words back and forth in the press because Wapner basically said she's too mean and has no tact... He thought she was too short-fused with her litigants...
RIP Judge Wapner. (anyone else thinking Rain Man now?)
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I remember watching his show when I was a kid.
I have watched all the judges who have surpassed him, but I think he was the best.
I heard on the Stern show that he dated Lana Turner, I had no idea. I knew she was with Sean Connery and mobsters, but was surprised about Wapner.

Not having seen "Rain Man", I didn't understand your reference until this past Sunday when I seen a short "in memorial" bit on Judge Wapner where they showed a clip from the film: It makes sense to me now...
