any time we eat out at a Japanese restaurant I use the sticks. I am not great with them but I still finish my meal long before my wife and kids, LOL

I do occasionally dabble with using chopstick, but mostly on stuff that's "chopstick friendly" (like main entrees and noodle dishes). I never have mastered the art of eating Wonton Soup with chopsticks once the wontons are gone...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

I always use them in Chinese restaurants. It's an added bonus.

Ha, you and me both, sir. (and I'm guessing that your place is like mine, where they are called "hashi" instead of "chopsticks" )

I'm at the point now where some food is easier for me to eat with them instead of with a fork. My wife bought me a pair with my name written on them in Japanese, pretty spiffy!

One of my friends since the 80s...is Japanese-American. Back around 1994...he invited me to one of his family gatherings in San Mateo, Ca. To make a long story short, they had tons of homemade sushi...I started eating them with chopsticks and taken little bites at a time, they all started snickering and laughing...I said, what am I doing wrong? They said, we eat sushi with our hands, the chopsticks are for sashimi, plus don't nibble on the sushi, place the entire thing in one bite, lol.
Yeah, roll sushi is easier to eat with your hands, as long as it is Japanese style (seaweed on the outside). If it's western style, rice on the outside, it's a PITA to eat with your hands because the rice sticks to your fingers.
