I don't blame Ryan. The coaches made an unforgivable mistake in not just running the ball after Julio Jones' big catch. They were in comfortable field goal range at that point. A field goal ices the game. I sat there in shock at that point.
Oh, I blame him. I blame him. When you're entering the 4th quarter of a Super Bowl up 28 to 9, that's it, game over. The only difference between the Patriot defense that he dropped 28 on in the first 3 quarters and the Patriot defense in the 4th quarter, is that the 4th quarter D is a lot more tired, and this hack couldn't even lead his team to a lousy field goal to clinch the victory. What a loser.
You are transparent; I see many things... I see plans within plans.
First Alabama and now my Falcons. Worst college and pro football seasons ever.
As opposed to 1997 when they went 4-7 and 7-9, respectively? Or 2000 when they went 3-8 and 4-12, respectively? or as recent as 2006 when they went 6-7 and 7-9, respectively?
Not slamming your teams, just putting a liiiiiiittttle perspective on it.
Hector, I love reading these threads after the fact, and following the progression of your passion as things move along. Kind of like BvS.
I was in and out of this one, but my son was watching it. I really didn't care who won, but came in at about 9:30 expecting the blowout everyone else did. Little did I know an hour later, I'd be getting an entirely different outcome.
I bet many Super Bowl parties ended early with folks going home knowing Falcons were going to win by a very wide margin. No matter who you root for, this was exciting footbal.
What an incredible game. I lost count of how many times the Patriots looked like they were going to be blown out. At one point there wasn't even a pulse in that team. Essentially the Falcons started celebrating at halftime and forgot there was a second half. Watching Goodell get booed was heaven on earth. Now THAT is Karma. Oh and if Edelman's catch does not match Tyree, I don't know what would. Incredible catch!
Matt Ryan should've gotten rid of the ball, avoid the sack, kick a field goal, game over.
The sack took them outta field goal range.
...that left Brady plenty of time to march down the field, score the TD, two point conversion. Tie ballgame. OT, win the coin toss. Win the Super Bowl.
I don't recall Super Bowl commercials being this lame before...not a single memorable one.
Anybody else feels the same way?
I feel the same. When you consider this was the first year in recent memory that the game looked to be over midway through, it REALLY put emphasis on the commercials inability to appeal. Nothing really stood out to me. The Mr. Clean was kind of funny. The stars yearbook was kind of interesting but missed it's potential to be memorable. And the Melissa McCarthy was pretty good, but it had been shown all last week, so it wasn't new for the game. And none of the trailers looked all that good. Logan looked okay, but to me that character is getting a little bland.
yeah, I said to my buddy during the game that I had not seen a single memorable commercial. the movie trailers were good. the mister clean was kind of weirdly disturbing
I loved the Stranger Things season 2 teaser. Wish it was longer in a way, but I'm okay not having things spoiled.
I was surprised to not see any long Marvel or DC trailers. Heck, it wasn't that long ago that I was watching a football game a long, cool Mummy trailer was revealed.
