Gotta have Rocky Horror and the Wizard of Oz in there. I'd also throw in Sound of Music.

        No particular order:

        Scrooge (1970)
        Willy Wonka
        Wizard of Oz
        Blues Brothers
        White Christmas

        Honorable Mentions:
        Mary Poppins
        Grease
        Rocky Horror Picture Show
        The Muppet Movie
        The Muppets (recent one)

If you throw in the Disney animated films, you'd get a whole new list!

Oh wow - weird to think of movies with lots of music and musicals at the same time - but it's probably something like this based on the movies I've seen the most times:

          Singin' in the Rain
          Wizard of Oz
          Hairspray (the original)
          High Fidelity
          Stop Making Sense
          The Blues Brothers
          The Muppet Movie

Oh - and I guess Duck Soup and Some Like it Hot might count - even though they only have a couple of music sequences.

I hate musicals, but give Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka, and Disney animated movies, a pass.

Tough to pull just 5. Even tougher to branch out from more stereotypical "musical" movies. For me, I'd go with this:

                1. Wizard of Oz - the gold standard, as far as I'm concerned
                2. Once - just a wonderful movie with tremendous music
                3. South Park - at the time it came out, I had never laughed so hard in a theater
                4. Blue Brothers - great memories of growing up and watching this on the VCR repeatedly
                5. August Rush - big fan of the main song "This Time," and the guy who wrote it (Chris Trapper)

Even though it's not technically a movie I do love Sweeney Todd (early 80's PBS version with Angela Lansbury)

Not a fan of the Johnny Depp movie, but it's watchable

                        Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
                        Wizard of Oz
                        Scrooge

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
