Barbara Hale, who played sercretary Della Street in the "Perry Mason" television series and movies, died Thursday. She was 94.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I'm a big fan of Raymond Burr and I watch Perry Mason regularly. Barbara Hale's Della Street is such a charming aspect of the show and she had that great chemistry with Burr and a twinkle in her eye. She contributed a lot to the show even in a limited role. RIP Ms. Hale.

Man, January is turning out to be a crappy month. My parents were religious watchers of "Perry Mason" and, by extension, I've come to watch the show on a regular basis. The chemistry between Burr, Hale, William Hopper, and even William Talman (who portrayed Hamilton Burger, perhaps the unluckiest D.A. ever) was, and is, always great and reminds me a bit of the same chemistry portrayed in the Kirk-Spock-McCoy triumvirate, but Barbara Hale was always the one that seemed able to find a way to motivate Mason into getting the job done. She was a wonderful and underrated actress. RIP, Ms. Hale, you'll always live on through reruns and new fans.
