Up and Running again

So the Mego Museum and Plaid Stallions have been down for two days, why you ask?

Well, the company that owns the company that hosts us swapped out some hardware and had absolutely...no...back...up.

Every site hosted by that company (including their own!) was down.

The writing is on the wall and basically, the Museum and PS will be moving in the coming weeks. We'll give everyone plenty of warning and I have lots of faith in both Joe and Robyn about a smoother transition than the clown car that is Queryfoundry.

If there is a positive side to all of this, I personally was swamped with "What's wrong with the Museum?" emails, tweets and DMs. Initially I was kind of thorny about them until i realized "To have such problems, people care about your sites". So, thanks to all of you for the concern, it's nice to be missed.

I just assumed it was the updates Joe posted about, so I didn't sweat it too much, although I did make a frowny face everytime I tried to log on and didn't see the old brown color scheme (and yes, I still have it set to that! It's comforting, dammmit!).

Good on you guys for moving on up, to the East side.

Yeah, this wasn't Joe's fault at all. He was really frustrated because I think he hosts other sites on the server and he was feeling some heat.

He and I were both sending some ugly tweets at the host company, who did not engage, respond or acknowledge. Fantastic customer service cloudsharts and queryfoundry.

Since this place is one of my "escape hatches" from the real world, its presence has been sorely missed the past couple of days, but I'm glad to see you're back up and running and I'm looking forward to the next evolution...

With no web sites to maintain, i found myself watching TV with the wife and going to bed before 10. Life is boring without the MM and PS for me.

Yeah, I've missed my favorite place to run to. I'm glad it's back. Everyone that's involved with making this site happen should pat themselves on the back, I really mean that. I would do it but that would mean I'm right behind you and that would be creepy.

Glad you are up and running again. I kept looking at the PS and MM Facebook page for some kind of announcement it was down and didn't see it, so I thought maybe it was something on my end and spent time cleaning my cache, deleting cookies and such which is what kept a few other forum sites I frequented form coming up in the past. Then I saw the post on PS for the Snowspeeder mention the servers were down and I took a deep breath and waited it out, relieved at least it wasn't on my end but sorry things were going rough for the site's host.

It was helpful to find your post about the server problems on the Facebook page. I encourage you to do that again if we have technical difficulties in the future. It told me that you were aware of the issue, and it was not down because (as I originally assumed) a flamewar finally burned the place down.
