    Only Google left

At work , they have been slowly blocking what we can see and do on line. It started last year with YouTube first being blocked. I heart radio came next, EBAY followed shortly after that then Yahoo. Thought heck how are they blocking a whole search engine, and now today MSN is gone. That leaves only Google left that gets us onto the internet. Lunch time on line is about to get real boring if they kick Google to the curb too.

The actions of the few obviously affect the wants of the many.

The place I work is pretty rigid in it's site blockage, but we're still able to connect to all the search engines (which we pretty much use on a daily basis) and YouTube, but a lot of other, comic and movie info sites are blocked. Luckily, I can still get on the MEGO boards at lunch!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Companies always looking for ways to line you up behind the eight ball should they find themselves at odds and want to boot you. The internet is probably best left off their channel.

Sometimes you can get around that by using Google translate. Type in your destination site and set to translate it to something you might kinda know. I have used Esperanto which a lot of times isn't much different than English. Great for YouTube or looking for toy pics.

They are obviously monitoring Internet Usage...you may not want to try an circumvent the process and draw unnecessary attention to yourself.

My work has blocked Internet substantially too. The only work around--and I find it for the better--is to use your smartphone. Unless you're not doing that or have an unlimited data plan using monitored computers at work will be the drag you expect. I know it's convenient to have work email at your fingertips and a browser, but after a while I've come to like the privacy of my phone and, best of all, my boss needn't concern himself with how I rank among others regarding Internet usage anymore, that is, not so much where I go, but how much time I'm online from data IT submits monthly to supervisors.
