If you see only one film this year, I would highly recommend that you purchase a ticket for "Hidden Figures". I'll admit that I am partial to anything concerning the early 1960s and The Mercury Seven program. I am currently reading "We Seven" and re-reading "The Right Stuff" with the "Hidden Figures" book in my queue.
I took in a screening last Sunday and greatly enjoyed this film.....it is excellent, intelligent, poignant, well-written, well-acted and its editing and direction are also amazing.
No one wears a cape or shoots a blaster....but it is a story about heroes nevertheless. Real Heroes who did their duties but could not enjoy the basic liberties of many Americans because of their race and their gender.
Go see it.
