CHiPs seems like a show that kinda makes sense as a comedy reboot. I was optimistic of the casting of Michael Pena and Dax Sheppard as Ponch and Jon. But this is garbage. I'm not sure how it managed to go off the rails this badly. I can appreciate low brow humor... but that was just not funny.

And I know it is a little thing, but it highlights the larger problem: CHiPs has one of the most iconic television theme songs ever written, and there is not a whiff of it in the trailer. If you don't want to bare any resemblance to CHiPs, why not make a movie called "Zany Motorcycle Cops"?

Larry Wilcox said they ruined the shows legacy for the next generation and I agree.
I loved that old show and that new movie looks gross, like everything else in Hollyweird these days.

CHiPs was pure 70s cheese, I'm not really sure it's sacred in any way.

This doesn't look good, despite having a great cast, nor does it make sense in 2017, this is the kind of thing that would have been a big hit in the 1990s but now? The average movie goer never grew up with the show. This will bomb like Man from U.N.C.L.E which IMO, was a good movie with no recognition factor.

It's a good film, filled with a lot of wit and good performances. It's kind of understated and certainly not a summer blockbuster but I've come to really enjoy it and it's soundtrack.

Chips would have been better as a crazy, over the top Michael Bay type action/comedy movie, like Bad Boys or something. The show was cheesey, but harmless. Thinking about it reminds me I have to find my old Chips megos and their motorcycles and check them out, I'm afraid they may have zombified by now.

That looks downright respectful compared to the raunchy Baywatch remake coming out this year. Baywatch is even less beloved than CHiPs, but I'm still not sure why anyone decided to fill it with F-bombs...IN THE TRAILER!

Wow, that's even worse than I had envisioned! This is why I'm glad they never did the movie version of "Emergency!" It was in preproduction a few years ago with Ashton Kutcher tapped to play the John Gage character.

Was it going to be played as a comedy? Emergency! doesn't seem like good spoof material, it's pretty straight stuff.

The original CHiPS sucked...anything made after that should be a quadrillion times better.

We get too blinded on nostalgia sometimes...a lot of those shows I watched as a kid were pretty terrible.
