The claws of 2016 still holding on; it's been a miserable year in many ways. The loss of many cultural icons, and four friends/colleagues. Bahhh!

Carrie's auto biographical Broadway show (Wishful Drinking) was brilliant and funny, and while growing up with her as *the Princess*, this is really the work I'll remember her by as it captured her life and work in a unique artful way.

While only symbolic, I'm looking forward to 2017 [sic].

I was shocked and saddened by the news. She was too young to go. May she take her place among the stars!

Hedji, if a picture is worth a thousand words, then your collage is easily priceless. It made me smile and get teary-eyed at the same time. Made me think of going out trick-or-treating with my sister who was costumed as Princess Leia and literally had two day-old cinnamon buns bobby-pinned to the sides of her head.

sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Carrie Fisher Completed Work on ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Before Her Death...

Carrie Fisher’s death Tuesday at the age of 60 has left her involvement in a number of film and television projects unresolved. The eighth film in the series, in which Fisher appears as Leia Organa, wrapped shooting in July and is now in post-production. Beyond Star Wars, Fisher was highly sought after for her on camera work and for her writing and script doctoring.

Very sad. She left an everlasting imprint on popular culture.

Again, too much hard life, wear-n-tear on the heart. They said she was up and around talking to people on the flight, which usually means the person was told by a physician to not be idle for several hours due to blood cot issues. The sad irony is by getting herself into better health for Awakens, then adding all the promotional work for the past two years, it was too much.

She was such a huge part of all of our childhoods. May she rest in peace.

Your instincts were right. She never regained consciousness. It looks like they waited so she wouldn't have died on Christmas. Family friends like Max Landis knew right after it happened and said she passed, then retracted it on behalf of the family.

This one really hits hard. Like someone else said pretty much li a member of the family. Also just realized now, that for the first time ever I will not able to enjoy the SW movies "as is". There will be a sense of loss when I see her for awhile. I think that says a lot. I am selfishly glad she finished work on Ep. 8 as we get say "goodbye" on screen. It's also an extra kick when someone dies so young. For fans in reading tributes today she also seemed to have the best attitude. Just an incredible loss. RIP.
