RIP Princess Leia. You are now part of the Force that is with us all.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
When I learned that CPR was performed on her for 10 minutes during the flight, I figured the situation was considerably worse than we were led to believe.
She was such a huge part of all of our childhoods. May she rest in peace.
Definitely an influential figure on young girls and on women in general and a huge part of the SW mythos, her passing will leave a void similar to Leonard Nimoy's passage. Peace and condolences to Ms. Fisher's family, friends and many, many fans worldwide.
As for the people on the Internet already trying to turn a dollar on this news, they should all be woefully ashamed of themselves. If I were the people running eBay (or any of the online auction sites), I would put a strict embargo on any Carrie Fisher merchandise/memorabilia that is trying to be sold right now.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

That said, Fisher's daughter released the statement of her mother's death exclusively to People Magazine, for which she was undoubtedly well-compensated. I'm just going to assume she'll use that money for a charitable cause in her mom's name..
Ms. Fisher lived a challenging life, full of extreme highs and lows. I hope in the end she was in a good place, and content.
I read Shockaholic earlier this year and realized no matter how many books she wrote, Carrie was always able to find more sections of her interesting life to pundit and always able to be witty about it, even when she was discussing the tragic points. I am deeply saddened with the loss of that voice. rip Carrie Fisher
Just when you think this year could not get any more depressing. Even sadder, as bad as this year has been, I fear 2017 is going to be even worse.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
My goodness Hedji---hadn't came close to tears til saw that photo collection...
When I heard she was in critical condition, my instinct was to fear the worst because NO ONE in the major media outlets would misrepresent such a valuable Disney asset... and they all had her as "critical"
Then a couple days passed and I thought she was reasonably in the clear...
So, this was a shock.
Alan Dean Foster had that "steel kitten" description for Leia in the SOTME novel.... I believe that description applies to Fisher as well.
Great mind... great Star Wars ambassador.... just a great woman...
RIP
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
