    Play an instrument?

I used to play guitar as a kid and sang in a band. We mainly did covers of scorpions, Iron maiden, Sabbath, Rolling Stones songs. We actually played an assembly while in High School. I remember being treated as a rock star afterward. Man those were the days!

Yeah...I play guitar too. Just about everyday. It's kinda like my 3rd arm.

I've been playing guitar for about 26 years now. I also play bass pretty often, and I can play a bit of mandolin and piano/keys.

                Musicians, such a strange bunch.

This is my toy room. Drums are a pain to collect being so huge, so I'm down to four kits. Here's my 70's Slingerlands and 80's Tama's. I also have a newer Tama kit, but no pics handy. I'm thinking some of these are gonna get let go of too.

Well, to make a long story short.
I can play piano, drums, guitar and bass.
I usually write all the music for my band and co-collaborate later with band mates.
Out of all the things to do, I like to just be the front man and not do anything but I usually wind up picking up an instrument when a member exits or can't make a gig later on.

                        Cool topic.

I've been singing off and on for around 20 years or so. I did the obligatory 80's hair metal covers while in college and gradually moved into progressive rock/metal. We did a lot of Dio and Dokken covers, which were not my favorites. People used to refer to us as Dokko.

I haven't really done much in the last few years due to work and my wife's health probelms. If I get to do it again, it'll be prog like Kansas, Journey, Styx, Ambrosia, Genesis, Wishbone Ash and several others. I'd also like to mix in a little more contemporary stuff to like Dream Theater and Queensryche.

Maybe someone will bring a karyoke machine to Mego Meet and we can all jam.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I wish I was making it to Mego Meet this year, I'd be glad to jam on some prog rock with you Random Axe!

Beatnik- those are some really nice kits! Do you currently play in any bands?

I used to play clarinet and at one time could play the drums but that was a long, long time ago. One of the things I want to do before I die is learn to play piano but have other priorities right now.

I think I have mentioned a couple of times that I work for the nation's largest retailer of instruments. I am in the Corporate headquarters for the Band and Orchestra division but I'm sure most of you who play have either been to one of our stores or our parent company which sells more of the higher end electric guitars, drumsets, etc.
