Yes, but Bruce Lee was a world class martial artist with tons of charisma (as you said), a true world icon who had tremendous influence.

But, I will ease up in my original comments about Mr Williams, you are right, he had enough IT factor to have had at least a much more successful TV career...you are so right on that.

This is really sad. He was the last surviving cast member of The Green Hornet. I discovered the show on Encore Action some years ago, (yeah, I know, but better late than never!), and wished I had a time machine, b/c he was really a very handsome man. The Green Hornet was a great show, and it's really too bad it didn't last longer. RIP. Van. We'll miss you.

I think his Green Hornet series was sadly underrated. It couldn't escape the shadow of Batman. From everything I ever read he was a man of great integrity that was happy to move on from the Hollywood life. The Heavens just got a bit classier today. RIP Van. A good man.

Aside from their appearance on Batman, I've never watched much Green Hornet. This makes me want to. R.I.P.

met mr Williams in florida back at a fx show in the early 90s ,spent a bit of time with him at the organisers Mike Hertzs home at a after show superbowl party ,not sure if he was messing with me ,the only english man in the room ,but he told me he walked away from hollywood and acting and joined the LAPD and was working as a detective at the time we met ,as i said not sure if he was pulling my p*sser or not ,but i believed him and thought it was a great story and repeated it often
he was a lovely bloke a great story teller and good company ,glad to have met you and spent time in your company ,rest in peace Mr Williams

^He did get into law enforcement in the LA area, for sure. I remember a "Where are They Now" type piece on Entertainment Tonight back in the 90s that spotlighted Williams in his role as cop.

Yes, I've read several times that he'd been a deputy sheriff. Per Hec's comment about his athleticism: I just discovered that he'd been sighted in the early '50s when he was a diving instructor in Hawaii and subsequently signed a WB contract.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Yeah our local middle aged shock jocks used to make gay jokes about Van Williams but I don't think he was. Perhaps they were thinking of Van Johnson.

Anyway, I picked up lakeside bendy a couple months ago.

Back in the day the Captain Action Green Hornet and Spiderman boxed set were the highest ticket items in the hobby. Spiderman has surprised GH in price over time but neither one come cheaply.

Hmm. Van Johnson was. I've never heard that intimated about Williams.

Nice figure. Two pieces of GH merchandise I covet: The Pez dispenser of course, and a proper DVD release.

Man - I missed this news. I just search Green Hornet on the museum because of a Gotham episode (I 5 episodes behind). This was not the info I hoped to find.
