    15 years later...RIP George

Man, first it was Freddie being gone for 25 years and today it's 15 years since George's battle with cancer ended.

My favorite George song from his entire catalog. RIP George...15 years and world seems even more lost without your music and wisdom in these dire times:

"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
    The beauty that surrounds them
    Isn't it a pity".

    - "Isn't It A Pity"
    By George Harrison

Here, here. I think of him often. I hope that he is at peace. I suspect so.

In the Fall of 2001, I knew how sick he was and that it was just a matter of time before he had passed on. On the day his death was announced, I awoke that morning with the terrible feeling that he must have died. I turned on the TV, once I got out of bed and George was all over the news. A very sad day, indeed. It was a chilly, cloudy and I think wet day in NYC. It fit the mood. That evening, on the way to a birthday party, my wife and I passed through Strawberry Fields in Central Park. It was quite the scene. George was being mourned and celebrated at the same time. It's a moment I'll never forget.

I remember like it was yesterday. you are right Ian, it was a cold wet day. I was driving up the FDR when I heard the news on the radio. Such a loss to the world but his music and his message in life will last forever

I was driving from Chicago to Sheboygan, Wisconsin when I heard the news. It was a long, sad drive.

Had to play some George today. Didn't get a chance to play some on Nov. 29th. Finally got one of my external turntables hooked up properly, I have a turntable hooked up through my computer...but those tiny speakers don't do the LP justice, and am having another listen to one of THE finest LP's ever made. 'All Things Must Pass'

^What you guys said. A great George bootleg album is Beware of Abkco. I'm sure you guys are aware of it, however.

Speaking of George a few weeks ago I watched a video about his sister.

I tried to find out why he kinda shunned her but I couldn't find out anything.

He used to pay her a measly amount of money per month.

When he died D'hani and Olivia cut her off completely.

I know it's not the Beatles Museum thing because this went on long before that.

                  Anybody know why ?

I don't know for sure, but I always thought it was because she rides his coattails to make money.

I'd do the same thing if my bro had zillions of dollars

Oh, also I read he had his 2 brothers working as gardeners at his mansion

                        Really ????

If I was him my whole family would ride the boat on the top floor with me
