    RIP Robert Vaughn

Napoleon Solo, one of the Magnificent Seven, and of course, to many of us, Ross Webster in Superman III.

Always a smooth customer, no matter the role. Rest in peace.

I have never watched the Man From Uncle Series...but I did know of it and have the Gilbert figures What I do remember Vaughn from is this FANTASTIC British TV series called 'Hustle' It aired for a very short time here in the US on either A&E or AMC or AXS TV. It also aired on PBS for a very limited run. 8 seasons long. About 50 episodes. If you can find them unedited then it's worth the search. Here's a trailer from season 1:

      RIP.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
      The beauty that surrounds them
      Isn't it a pity".

      - "Isn't It A Pity"

"Smooth" is exactly the word I was going to use too.

What a bummer. So sorry to hear that. Yep. I will always think of his dry villainy in Superman III. A true gentleman. A true talent. He'll be missed.

I loved him in Man from UNCLE. Indeed he was very smooth. RIP Napoleon.

I'm saddened to hear of this. One of my favorite character actors. RIP Mr. Vaughn.

Fantastic as Napoleon Solo. And still on TV in all those ads for various legal firms..."You tell them you mean business!". I think the one we see most around here is for lawyers Metzger-Wickersham (whose names just sound like UNCLE villains).
                      RIP.

He was the only good thing in the last season of The A-Team.

I always felt his character ruined the last season of the A-Team. Hannibal was no longer in charge. Frankie Santana sucked too.

But I loved him as Ross Webster in Superman III

I liked him in Columbo, too. Also Joe's Apartment & The Mind of Mr. Soames.

I need to check out his British series The Professionals.
