I never met my father-in-law. He passed six months before I met my wife. But, I knew he had to be a great man, he blessed me with her AND he was a Cubs fan!
My wife made me promise after we married that if the Cubs ever won the World Series that we were going to go to his grave and decorate his tombstone with Cubs World Series Champions gear. At the time (1994) that was a pretty big "if", so I wasn't too worried about that. Not to mention he was buried 3 states away in Pennsylvania so it was saving me a 10-hour drive (each way). LOL
Well, last Saturday my wife and I, along with our 21 year old son, drove to the little town of Ephrata, PA and made good on that promise.
We laughed and cried, we decorated his grave, AND we watched the entire game with him on youtube while we lay on our Cubs blanket: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWp_3r3LtQU
Raymond Bernard Ralston you can now rest in peace.

Thanks for letting me share this with you all.
