    1950's Robin Hood TV series

As much of a Merry Men fan as I am, I'm embarrassed to admit that, until recently, I'd never watched the imported British Robin Hood series with Richard Greene. He always seemed more doughy than doughty to me, since I discovered him in Amicus films.

But of course I'd heard the theme, and I watched a few episodes on youtube yesterday to do some research. I enjoyed them, and Alan Wheatley is now my definitive Sheriff of Nottingham. It certainly is a slick-looking show for the era--I read online about the film stock which was used, which must have contributed.

What say ye--other fans or detractors here? I don't recall seeing this in reruns in the '70s. Are the other ITC period adventure shows worthwhile?
