The sets James Cawley uses to film his fan productions: Star Trek Phase II and The Continuing Voyages is open to tours in Ticonderoga NY. On Oct 22nd the tour will be conducted by Doug Drexler who is a Hollywood SPFX guy who has worked on many of the Star Trek TV shows from the 1980's onwards. He re-constructed the classic Star Trek sets a couple of times for the episodes Trials and Tribble-ations and In A Mirror Darkly.
There is also a deluxe package where a dinner and a special videos screening will be held in the evening also hosted by Mr. Drexler. There's nearly a month to plan for this event. You need only be able to get to Ticonderoga, NY and tickets are still available.
Anyone from the NYC/NJ/CT area who might like to get a group together and make the trip can also contact me. I'm traveling from the Queens - NYC area. Send me a message if you want to split gas and tolls. We could go together.
See the link for details on the tour and get tickets:
Mr. Drexler was the proprietor of the Star Trek Trading Post in Manhattan, NY & Co-publisher of the Star Trek poster magazine in the 1970's. He went on to a make-up career winning an Academy Award for the film Dick Tracy. He then went on to work for Star Trek - The Next Generation, DS9, Voyager and Enterprise. He also worked on the "re-imagined" Battlestar Galactica.
