No reason it can't be released here instead of going thru making sure I have the right player and then getting it imported. Disney owns Marvel now and has owned the cartoons for a while. 4 out of 5 characters are movie Avengers, if Namor is the sticking point leave him out.

Yes! Excellent choice. Release the complete score by Williams too, please.Comment

Okay, I can appreciate why he chose to desaturate the colour to almost capture the monochrome look he initially wanted to use for the picture, but having both versions would have been nice.
Top of my Blu-ray wish list are still The Black Hole and Dragonslayer.PUNY HUMANS!Comment

Black Hole may come out. My fear is that it will be an Exclusive to the Disney Movie Club. Why there's no Black Hole ride at the Disney parks is beyond me. The film actually has the perfect ride template built in... People mover, Robots in the Cygnus Garden, target practice, Meteor that almost hits the riders, and then dark ride into the Black Hole itself. (But I digress)
There's so many Blu Rays from some of the smaller labels that I never thought would see the light of day. It's a wonderful boom for you if you want to explore things like low budget Euro Horror or the Italian Giallo genre. Problem is, they aren't cheap because you can't walk into a Best Buy or Wal Mart and get them. But I have to say, aside from many of the titles already mentioned in this thread, most of my favorite major films have been released already.Comment

One of the best things to happen in Blu-ray recently is the smallish label called Twilight Time. The 1975 Rollerball movie was near the top of my list for Blu-ray for years, and it just wasn't happening. Come to find out, this company I'd never heard of called Twilight Time had released it in 2015, and I'd never heard about it. The trouble is, they only release limited runs of 3000 copies, and they're only available directly from Twilight Time online or through Amazon...so by the time I heard about it, it was already long gone except on the secondary market. Luckily they've done a rare second run on that one now.
So this is kind of a new concept in Blu-ray releases: limited edition runs, turning what was formerly a mass-market cheaply and easily available thing into a more expensive (30 bucks each from their website), limited-run collectible that sells out fast. The good part of that is that they're doing a whole bunch of films that have been out-of-print or never released on Blu-ray, many of which the studios apparently would have no interest in otherwise. I've already picked up 1984 (the 1984 John Hurt one, with 2 versions of the film) and Mississippi Burning during a sale they had, and I'm very happy with them.
Along with the on-demand studio archive releases that Warner and others have been doing, this bodes well for seeing the release of a lot of films that have been neglected for ages.

I'm quite partial to the smaller labels. Scream Factory is churning out great releases. Arrow, Severin, Code Red, Scorpion, and Kino Lorber are all great boutique labels. Scream Factory has gotten into the small run limited edition game recently. In fact, my copy of Star Wars ripoff Message From Space arrived just today!Comment

Twilight Time is nice. I have their Fright Night release.

Love, because it means they can release some very neglected films in small runs...and because when I get my hands on one I want and it sells out, it's a nice sense of satisfaction that I'm safe now.
Hate, because now I have to keep on the ball all the time, or I miss something...and when I do, then I curse myself for not paying attention when it was available. For instance, I just found out that "Enemy Mine" was released by Twilight Time in 2012, sold out by 2014. D'oh!!
Overall, though, I think it's a good thing. Physical movie disc owning will be something only serious collectors do very soon, kind of like the way laserdiscs were. Small run limited editions are pushing the discs more into the realm of collectibles. And none of us here know anything about that...
