    Greatest Chef ever?

    Maybe.

Chef Ettore Boiardi (known to a few as Chef Boyardee) was a big influence in my childhood menu.

The Beef Ravioli was my favorite. As a kid, I used to separate the top and bottom pasta pieces and eat them first, saving the meat for last.

The spaghetti & meatballs was a close favorite. To this day I can still recall their taste.

Not the greatest, but my favorite is Anthony Bourdain.

Everyone's mom is the best...that's without question...

But that would'be been too obvious of an answer...that's why I didn't go that route, ha...

Bourdain is definitely the coolest! As far as the best chef it all comes down to your own personal tastes. Many would consider classically trained French chefs among the best but personally I don't. I hate French food. Hard to pick a clear cut winner but the one I'd personally pick is Masaharu Morimoto. The man can cook anything and make it prefect and to suit anyone's taste.

I thought the Chef Boyardee pizza kits were kind of cool as kid. Don't remember if they tasted good or not, though. I don't think taste was the selling point because they were a lot of fun to prepare.

I also liked the Beef Ravioli as kid and will still grab a can when I go camping.

Pasta in a can, doesn't get any better than that, kind of gross but they were very popular.
When your Mom is Sicilian, canned pasta is major voodo.

I still love Chef Boyardee ravioli. The real chef Boiardi actually lived in my city and is buried nearby.

I confess: I still eat and enjoy a few Boyardee items.

I keep a can or two of pasta in my desk at work. Nothing wrong with room temp ravioli, and the pull tab lids are a great invention.
