EDITED, because I misread the original comment.

The whole Dylan Farrow affair is disgusting, but I've never been able to make my mind up about what happened. Neither Farrow or Allen's stories seem totally credible to me. Farrow was full of anger and disgust, and at the time people felt Dylan's testimony was coached. Farrow has another son who claims Farrow was intent on brainwashing all the kids against Allen, but Allen did have a documented history of inappropriate behaviour with Dylan before this all went down. It's a sick situation for sure either way.

To my vanilla life the whole Farrow/Allen relationship was very very strange.

I'm actually a big Woody Allen fan. I'd consider a few of his movies to be favorites. Is he a hero of mine outside of his filmmaking? No.

Why the hate for little Gwynny? If you don't want her, then more Margot Tenenbaum for me.

For me, it's because of GOOP, her clueless online lifestyle blog where she tries to relate to regular folks with articles like '10 best resturants to bring your kids' and lists 4 star michelin places in Paris and Beverly Hills. Then she advocates for all kinds of expensive "health" treatments that doctors have to write a billion articles explaining why doing things like putting hot steam on private parts is a bad idea.

Exactly. She just can't relate to regular folks, not one bit.

She gives interviews in French, she has a thick accent and butchers it...talks simplistically, but she acts like she's speaking perfectly and slaying it...

            She has zero humility.

Anthony Bourdain hates her too. It all started when Paltrow went to Spain, and wanted the Spaniards to drop their pork consumption...keep in mind...Spain is something like the third highest pork consumer in the world. Anthony Bourdain famously said..."Why would you go to Spain with the one blatch who refuses to eat ham?"...

Her Spanish on the other hand is pretty darn good. Her accent is Spaniard, not Mexican or South American...

The interviewer is speaking with a Mexican accent. See if you guys can tell the difference between her Spanish and Paltrow's.

              Clue, Mexicans don't lisp their "C's", "Z's", or "S's". Spaniards "lisp" their "C's" and "Z's"...but not "S's".

              I'll give her that one...

So she speaks at least 3 languages and is easy on the eye. So what if she gives her hoo-ha a steam bath every once in a while. I say postpone the decapitation and get back to talkin' about Mad Max.

It actually goes a bit deeper than beng out of touch with real people and the steam thing. She makes a lot of money endorsing and promoting fake health products, nonsensical treatments and non-medically endorsed diets. She's essentially a 21st century snake oil salesperson. I'd ague that of all the celebrities we've mentioned she's potentially the most dangerous to the largest amount of people.

Saw this on Friday. A little preachy/hokey at times, but this man's story is amazing.

Funny story: in the late 90s, my friend and housemate at the time took a trip to London. While he was there, he missed his train or something one night and wound up hanging out by himself at a late night coffee shop. At some point, this pretty blonde girl who was also hanging out there as well started chatting him up. My friend was a very tall and and good-looking guy who attracted ladies by the swarm, but he was also incredibly aloof and shy. It soon became clear that this girl was hitting on him. He didn't know what to make of it, and wound up taking his leave eventually without even finding out her name.

Turns out that girl was in fact Gweneth Paltrow. She had apparently been in London making a film. He had never seen any of her movies and didn't know who she was until he got back home and saw her picture.

Another funny thing is that I had hoped to go on that trip with him as well, but couldn't come up with the scratch. I would love to have been there to witness that.

Anyway, nothing to do with Mel Gibson...who I think has gone off the deep end in his personal life (read: bat-guano crazy), but still makes some great movies in spite of that. Hacksaw Ridge seems right up my alley, and I thought Apocalyptica was epic and amazing. I don't know what his acting's like these days, but old Mel has turned into quite a director. He's not the first director to prove that crazy doesn't have to keep you from making amazing films.
