    In the check out lane....

There is always hope! Bored with one lane open at Wally World, waiting for one customer with a huge cart to finish. I started looking at the shelves behind the lane, must have been their over stock goods for the check outs, I saw display boxes for Hot Wheels in the short card variety.
I kept looking at this first card in one box, kept saying "yes, nooooo, can it be?" Getting anxious, keeping my eye on the prize, finally got to the cashier, asked to see the one box. I got it in my hand, then I knew it was true!
A Super Treasure Hunt! Got home and checked it out. I didn't know they expanded the line to Supers. Then read about a "keyhole?" Looks like that too!
My first T Hunt ever and best of all, I got it in a store!!!

Just think, all we went for is tater chips!

mitch they are rarer then the other cars and are purposely made less so people go looking for them and buy others , or at least i think so. i am a semi hot wheels matchbox collector. not a knowledgeable or die hard. i buy the ones i like and the one t has is nice. they also made red lines which are the hot wheels with redd around the tires like a pint stripe on the tire. mike

Mike, You hit the nail right on the head. The Mattel game as I like to call it works and has worked since the introduction of the Treasure Hunts back in 1995. I started collecting HW's in late 1994. I believe I got in at a really good time. I do not care to collect them much these days like I used to. Like you stated I only collect the one's that I think are really cool now. I used to buy everything up. That was then this is now I like Mego's a lot better now. I still have all of the HW crap taking up lots and lots of space. Perhaps one day I may find a sucker err umm I mean prospective buyer. I want to sell my collection all at once if and when I ever do decide to sell. I know wish in one hand and do the #2 in the other. Wishful thinking on my part I guess. I do not want to piece it out a piece at a time. Takes too long and the $$ isn't really worth it to me when it dribbles in a little bit at a time on small sales. I have some matchbox as well. Pre Mattel and of course now that Mattel owns Matchbox as well. I still like the HW's better over the Matchbox designs. Just my opinion. To each their own.
