I didn't get much - just a female hero figure (whose name can't be mentioned) wearing one sandal, and an oversized backpack from SDCC. However, next door was the postcard & paper show which was pretty cool. My biggest haul was a silent auction win of a box of first day covers (stamps). I doubt there's anything valuable in the lot, but it's neat. The wife even watched me flip through the box which is unusual for her.

Hmm...apparently you have a doppelganger running around. I thought I saw you carrying out a box o'stuff, but you / he didn't seem to acknowledge me when I said "Hey." I didn't see facial hair, so it's prob not an evil twin...maybe a bizzaro?Comment

Real nice haul MRP. I especially love that Force Commander. I have that Superman book. It's pretty cool too. There's a Batman one like it too.
I picked up a few things from the show too. I'll post a quick pic here now and later I'll post at the mego and classic acquisitions threads. I thought it was a really good show. Wish I had more cash to blow.

Don't disrespect the Franklin! Who do you think got a Mugato and a Neptunian to stand still for that photo?Comment

Yes same folks. I am going to have to pass on that one though as my war chest for buying toys is currently empty and will take a few months to build back up again. I'll be looking forward to their spring shows though.
Speaking of the spring, a new Ohio toy show is launching this spring...
https://www.facebook.com/ohiotoys/
organized by one of the vintage toy shops inthe area and he hopes ot make it one of the bigger toy shows in the state. I am curious how well it will do/if it takes off, but I am planning on at least checking out the first show in April.

There's a Shazam book too, which is the first of them I ever saw at my local library back in my hometown in Connecticut. I have been trying to get all 3 for a while, but I always see them in the $100-$150 range with no dust jacket at used book stores (even Half Priced Books had them at that price in their branch by the OSU campus in their rarities case last I saw copies), so I was quite happy to get this one with dust jacket for $20.Real nice haul MRP. I too wished I had more money to blow, but my budget is limited and I just try to put $10-$20 a week away to build up my war chest until I go to a show or buying trip every other month or so (which is why I am likely to skip the Oct Cincy show by CTS). My wife and I both agree no credit card debt will be accrued in pursuit of the hobby, so it's what I stash away each week from walk around money that funds my buying.

these are the 3 volumes in that vein...

The Shazam volume has most (if not all) of the Monster Society of Evil story if I recall, though I haven'y seen a copy since high school 30 years ago.

That's nice! I do have the oversized MSOE special edition from the '80s, but this would be a great complement to it.
