I watched the show and thoroughly enjoyed it. He's onto another project with Pamala from Lucky Louie. For folks who may not have seen H&P, it's a 10 episode theater tragedy filmed in the style of PBS so it may not appeal to everyone. Many great actors make cameos and you've never seen Alan Alda like this. If you're a fan maybe some folks have heard various shows like NPR's Fresh Air where Louie discussed some of the originally intended actors like how Joe Pesi was supposed to do the part Alda took over and that the things his character would say was right out of Joe's mouth.Comment

Even though it was the kind of character that is unexpected from Alan Aldo, I think it worked out much better with him in the role. It feels like a really nuanced performance with Alda being able to portray the pain that informs the character's bile and anger. It might even have more impact because it's not the kind of role you'd expect from "Hawkeye".
So many heartbreaking moments on this show. Steve Buscemi and Edie Falco are amazing. I'm a huge fan of Boardwalk Empire and Nurse Jackie, this really feels like palette cleansers for those characters. So different and surprising. Buscemi being able to play more along the sweeter end of the spectrum, and Falco definitely has some sharp edges defined by vulnerability, albeit both are undoubtably damaged goods.
Louis CK is definitely playing up the stage play feel of it, many many Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Glass Menagerie moments here.
