I am a native of Flint michigan, and as such believe in the divinity of the "coney dog"... Below courtesy of Urban Dictionary: Define Your World

    1. Flint Style

A term that refers to the type of Coney dog that is served in Coney Island restaurants and diners in Michigan. A true Flint style Coney is a Koegels hot dog served on a steamed bun with Coney sauce, onions and mustard only. The key is that Flint style must use the dry, loose meat Coney sauce NOT red sauce or chili sauce and NO beans or sauer kraut. If the dog is served with chili then it’s just a generic Coney dog, Chili dog or in Michigan a Detroit style dog.

The people of the nitty gritty city of Flint, MI feel that the Flint Style Coney dog rivals a Chicago hot dog and that Koegels hot dogs rival Hebrew National, Nathan's and any hot dog or chili dog seved on the east coast. There is always an on-going discussion/contest between Flint and Detroit on who has the best Coney (Coney sauce vs. Chili sauce).

"Gimme Two-Up with everything and make em' Flint Style."
"You want those Coney's Flint Style or Detroit Style?"

I'm with you on the ingredients...just add some sliced jalapeños, and I'm so there.

I'm just a plain old ketchup and mustard guy. I prefer that the dogs are all beef.

Sauerkraut and mustard for me. Unless I'm on vacation up north, then I have to hunt down a Sabrett's hot dog stand so I get their onion sauce.

                What's English mustard ?

Is it more like regular yellow mustard, or the brown style ?

                Never heard that term before

I like mustard (regular yellow is just fine), dill slice, & grilled onions. Sometimes tomato is good too. Or I like having mustard and sauerkraut, though I like that better when it's on a Polish Sausage

English mustard is yellow and more paste like than American style yellow mustard and very, very strong...think horse radish but with a mustard flavour...that's how hot it is...We usually have it with roast dinners over here and add a little to roast beef to give it a kick...

Ketchup, plain and simple. Best served on a Sabrett boiled in beer. On a soft white bun. With an ice cold can of coke. Thank goodness they started selling those in my gourmet supermarket. Its like being on a street corner in midtown Manhattan. Except for the beer part, that's my spin on the classic.

Prefer Chicago style-Tomato, onion, that really green relish, mustard, hot pepper on a poppy seed bun. Kraut and mustard is ok too.

Chili, onions, peppers and lots of mustard! Sometimes just a pile of cole slaw.
