    Photos of YOUR "Home Theater"

Alright gang! Let's see pics of those Home Theaters!!!

Has your big screen made YOU the talk of the town?

Have you gained a high level of respect among your neighbors through the rumble of your sub-woofer?

Do you charge admission to family and friends when they come over to see a film at your place?

For me, the answer to these questions is a pathetic "no". However, my wife and I get a lot of enjoyment out of our modest set-up.

We live in a duplex apartment in Brooklyn, NY, and our funds are limited, so a full-blown dedicated "screening room" was not an option for us. Instead we designed and converted our living room into a theater space and put in as much slick detail as we could.

Walk with me, now, as we take a short tour through "Williams Cinema".

This is the view from the living room, looking toward the archway that leads to our apartment's entry foyer.

The opposite view, looking INTO the living room and off to the left, reveals the "Theater Wall"...

Of course, one of the STAR WARS films was showing when this photo was taken... a perpetual condition in our home.

    STATS:

The Theater wall features, semi-circular "stage", lit "cubby" spaces (awaiting carpeting), 119"-Wide archway opening, and "King Blue" velvet drapes and trim.

The TV is a 70" Hitachi LCD.

All lighting in the room is linked to electronic dimmers.

A full 5.1 THX sound system is installed in the room: A Denon AV-4800 Reciever sends sounds to two B&W CDM 7NT Series tower speakers (one on either side of the TV). A third (smaller) 7NT is installed above the TV (as the center channel).

The left and right surround speakers are B&W CDM "In-Walls" (concealed behind two framed pictures on the back wall behind the couch).
The sub-woofer is the small Sunfire "Super Junior" 9" cube. It's tucked in a corner under one of the end tables.

Well, there it is. Our Home Theater. By the way, vintage MEGO commercials look and sound pretty spiffy on this set-up!

Well, nothing spectacular like yours, but we have flat screen set ups on the walls throughout the house...

The one in the living room is too small, it's going to be transfered to the pinkish bedroom...we want get a huge one for the living room.

Nice to still see an occasional peripheral cameo from a T1K Kirk chair turn up turn up when you least expect it.

              Hec, you made my day

It's not like this now, the collection has been depleted...but I'll get it back to this again...slowly but surely.

I can't compete with some of you guys, but I'm enjoying my new set up. 50" Panasonic plasma with a pair of Axiom bookshelf speakers. I love it.

I've got a projector that you can plug in tv/dvd/video/pc/game consoles and a 6ft screen..trouble is it only comes out occasionally due to a lack of space at home and when it does it's usually 'cos the kids have mates round to watch movies (it was a birthday present from the missus so I could watch the World cup on it as well as my substantial film collection), I've hardly made a dent in the films I want to watch on it. When it is set up we do the whole cinema thing with popcorn, ice cream etc and the kids sat on the floor in front of the screen on cusions in a row.

                              You guys have yummy stuff.

After a 7-month battle with Suck-It City, we were able to replace our messed up flatscreen with this Akai. Eventually I want to have a total of 9 Mr. Blik (Elasto-bliks??) from McDonalds over the tv screen. I only have five, but they keep falling off because the laundry room is above the tv.
