I know, it shocked me when I saw it on FB. 60 is a bit young to die these days.

My condolences to his family at this time.

    I loved him on B5

I was never a fan of Babylon 5 but I did listen to his radio show from time to time when traveling. His stories about working in Hollywood were always amusing and entertaining.

Wow. Sorry to hear that. From what I understand, he was a real "find your calling later in your career type" who'd been in something like banking when he landed the Garibaldi role.

He packed quite a bit in 60 years. I believe he worked as a pilot at some point. Had a job on Wall Street, actor, author, talk show host and even ran for office once.

it's sad how many of the main actors from B5 have died young....Jerry being only the latest. Andreas Katsulas, Jeff Conaway, and the actor who played the doctor whose name is escaping me at the moment. all gone far to young

I watched B5 for the first few episodes but lost interest.

I watched every single episode...the Shadow Wars was pretty good. But like Sheldon says in Big Bang, the show was derivative (those wacky Trekkies, lol). Deep Space 9 debuted a bit earlier, but both shows co existed at the same time...I watched and enjoyed both. One of the things I liked about Babylon 5 is that out of the 5 central military powers...Earth was technologically advanced and powerful, but still inferior to the Minbari. Before the space station was built...Earth had just barely survived an accidental war with the much more powerful Minbari, who, despite their superior technology, mysteriously surrendered at the brink of the destruction of the human race during the Battle of the Line. The reason for the sudden mysterious surrender was part of the theme of the show later revealed. But the shows five year run, Earth became much more powerful.

I think Babylon 5 doesn't get much respect in comparison to Star Trek, but it was a very good show in its own right, very underrated.

Jerry Doyle/Girabaldi was not one of my favorite characters...but warmed up to him through the years.'

Very sad to hear of his passing...

If I am not mistaken, J. Michael S. had gone to paramount with the shows premise to be a Star trek show, but paramount rejected it. low and behold along comes along DS9 shortly thereafter
