Bantha5, that is a fantastic piece, and a great story indeed.

The first time I think I saw Jack Davis' work was in a pair of Slim Jim ads which ran in comics of the late 70s. His style was so distinctive, I could identify it from a mile away.

I always loved this pin-up from Superman #400 too. I think I still have the print of that from the Superman 400 portfolio around here somewhere...

I first saw his amazing talent on the covers he did for magazines like TV Guide. I was a little kid but I really enjoyed them. It was great years later to learn he worked for EC Comics then I could really appreciate his talent. As mentioned, he worked in so many mediums.

Rest In Peace Mr. Davis. Thank you for all the wonderful art.

Also, one afternoon my mom asked me to drop something off at Jack's, there is a Fedex shipping tube at the front door, out of curiosity I looked to see who it was from, Will Eisner. I was fortunate enough to receive this from Jack one Christmas, if the house was burning down and I could grab one thing, it would be this.

        THATS ME!
