Isiah Thomas said that if the Pistons could've somehow obtained Larry Bird...they would've done it in a heartbeat. Old timers were not holier than thou back in the days, just different rules. Back then, you could punch a fellow player in the face, almost kill him...yet after some time off...he was back in the game. Yeah, really honorable those good 'ol golden years of yesteryear, sure, lol.
Yeah, the days of chivalry and honor...
Tomjanovich got up, but Kermit almost killed him, read the medical files.
Pro sports is about winning. If you want to help mankind, volunteer for the Red Cross or join the Peace Corps.
Every single player in the NBA wants two things, money and rings.
There's no crying in pro sports...

Then after LeBron discards the Heat...he moves back to Cleveland...has his man in Irving...commands management to rid of Wiggins...and gets his man, Love. That's another fabricated big three.
If you are going to hate on Durant, please dump LeBron in the same garbage bag...

If you guys think LeBron didn't assemble his own super teams, you are kidding yourselves. The Heat had won a title before (Wade and Shaq). LeBron joined fellow superstar in Wade...and recruited Bosh...that's a fabricated big three right there.
Warriors win one measly title in 40 years...they get a superstar (Durant) to join another in Curry (sorry, Green and Thompson are not superstars)...now are the bad guys, hilarious, lol...Leave a comment:

Signing Durant is an admission the other camps figured out Curry and he's too small to do anything about it...
...plus Klay is gonzo to the Lakers next year. If you think it's impossible Klay is leaving...well, Durant.
Also, KD/Warriors is nothing like LeBron/Miami. Miami hadn't been a title contender, let alone defending champs, for nearly five years. The correct analogy is if LeBron went to Boston or KD went to Clippers.
The league is all about the element of surprise. Clips, Spurs are not going to just sit around for 82 games then lay down come playoffs. More than likely, Westbrook will end up on one of those two before the trade deadline. If not, he goes to Lakers with Klay as free agents next season. You have to hope Ballmer does something nutty to get him, because OKC GM is Pop's boy and former Spurs GM.
The smaller markets are not happy about this and with cap increase2 plus huge free agency market next year, you're going to see a number of teams make moves solely based on hobbling Warriors right after the All-Star break.
As dominate as the Warriors were this regular season, I'm betting they don't make it back to the Finals.Leave a comment:

The envious hate is at full swing now...haters now hating that Pachulia signed with the Warriors...this is getting comical...
Seriously? Angry because Pachulia took a pay cut to play for the Warriors?
Since when was taking more money than wanting to win a championship became more honorable?

All this means is that the Warriors will win 74 games in the regular season, and then blow a 3-0 (rather than 3-1) lead in the Finals to Cleveland!

This article is right on the money...
The hate, especially from former players like Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller...pure jealousy...since those two didn't win any titles...

While the optics might seem similar, Lebron left a one-man team in Cleveland. Nothing was being built around him while Miami was trying to build a championship caliber organization. When Cleveland made the commitment, he came back and now they have a championship. The Durant situation is different because Oklahoma had committed to building a winning team and Durant looks like he's just jumping on a bandwagon. Plus he said he left the Thunder because he didn't get the ball enough even though he led the team with more shot attempts (even besting Westbrook). So seeing him go from that to a complete team environment is going to be a sticky situation. Like I was telling Hector earlier, I think he'll come to regret that move. The Warriors lost as many games in the playoffs as they did the entire season, so teams have them figured out. My feeling is they will have to completely reconfigure their approach and that won't come overnight with new players in the fold and expectations through the roof from fans and the media. Every time they lose, they'll be asked if the championship loss is a factor. I suspect it will get ugly in Golden State before it gets better.I'll never knock a guy for wanting to win a championship. But admit it. Don't go on the, grow as a person pitch. Simply say that this was my best option for a title next year. Don't go into there the way Lebron went into Miami. He was a huge d!^$ for doing that, but hey, Cleveland still took him back, so who knows.Last edited by MIB41; Jul 6, '16, 6:05 AM.Leave a comment:
