I always thought the she was beautiful and cute at the same time (if that makes any sense)?
and she really took to the camera well and was a gifted actress during a time when a movie
didn't need, sex-violence and swearing to get attention, so happy centennial birthday, to one
of the best.Comment

They should do a "golden years" version of Gone with the Wind" with her now.

She is the last of the "Golden Age of Hollywood" stars. She still has more glamour today than 99.999% of all actresses alive. Movie Critic Leonard Maltin said it best about "Gone with the Wind" when he said the following, "if not the greatest American movie ever made, certainly, the greatest example of story-telling ever made."
I also loved her in "To Each his Own" and "The Heiress." Simply one of the greatest actresses ever -- and she has long-since out-lived them all!Comment

Captain Blood is excellent. You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

Tonight at 10 pm EST, TCM is showing The Heiress, for which de Havilland won an Oscar. It's my favorite film of hers, featuring a deft, heartbreaking performance. The film is an adaptation of a Broadway play, which was itself based upon a Henry James novella.
I highly recommend it.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment
