have you guys got any? pics would be fun, ill post pics, waiting on daughter to bring home the digi cam
OK. I have roughly 50 tattoos depending on how you count them. Some stuff blends together, and I have a few things in pairs that are technically 2 tattoos but I count them as 1. So it could swing as low as 40. Plus, I am getting my left forearm lasered (so I can get new stuff) and I don't know if that stuff counts anymore (it's almost gone).
I have many tattoos. Lets put it this way... If I was wearing long pants and a long sleeve shirt, I would still have 10 visible tattoos. If I put on a hat it would drop down to 9. Add gloves and it drops to 3. Change the shirt to a turtle neck and I would appear completely un-tattooed. I would look like I was about to rob a bank, but un-tattooed nonetheless.

      My opinion...
If you get one, don't do it for ANYONE except yourself (if you REALLYwant it).
YOU are the one that has to live with it your whole life.
After all the nasty scars I have due to my multiple surgeries...tattoos are really child's play...nothing to them.

I always wanted one on my left calf as a reminder of being able to walk again...I'm working on a couple of designs.

I'm going to a great tat shop, no cheapies.

I don't have any or any desire to get one.

There is a person working next door at a sandwich shop whose entire body is covered with high quality tattoos and I can appreciate the artwork but just not for me.

My brother has a large one that covers his entire back, he had it done at that place that is on tv....Miami Ink (a long time ago, 15-20 years). He works in a professional field and no one can see it. He likes it and that's all that matters.

I still can't see why people like to mark up their skin.

I'm probably the most anti-tatoo person here, so please take my comment lightly.

They're ugly as hell -- all of them.

I have a classmate in highschool whose dad was in the Navy. He had a giant eagle tatooed across his chest. He is way into his late 80s now. I am sure that the lines of the eagle and colors have greened and blurred through the years. He had an open heart surgery a couple of years ago. When they sutured him together, the eagle was not properly aligned. So now he's got an green faded eagle that is no longer symmetrical. I've never seen it, but one can just imagine...

And do I know you somehow? Me = Nathan King. Your pic looks familiar and Flint is a small space-time continuum, in which we Flintoids find and bump into one another around the globe.
Happened to me a couple weeks ago. Met a girl I went to school with and was in my graduating class. We didn't remember each other but my point remains valid.

I got these done by Chris Hornus at consolidated ink & steel. I've liked the way he does things for a while now and he hasn't done me wrong.

And who knows man, we may have met before it's hard to say around here anymore.

There's a new ink that's permanent if you wish, but it can also be removed with one laser treatment (and totally gone with no marks or scars)...most tatto artists don't like that ink...it will drive prices down.

Chris is a friend of mine. Next time you see him, tell him Nathan sends greetings! It will confuse him.

Actually It will probably bring prices up. Most guys don't use it since it takes away the factor of dedication and being REALLY sure you want to be marked for life. And the ink is pretty pricey... much more so than our usual pigment (a 4oz bottle of pigment runs me between $30/50). So the guys that do use the Freedom 2 ink tend to charge way more.
Plus it would bring in fence sitters that may have not gotten tattooed otherwise, and may never get tattooed again. It wouldn't affect our normal base customers at all.
Also, there is some debate on how the "easy remove" ink will age. The pigment molecules are encased in sort of a micro capsule. the laser breaks the capsule and the ink is flushed out of you system. It hasn't been around long enough to evaluate how these "capsules" will age in the body. If your body eventually organically breaks down the micro encapsulation in 5/10/15 years, you may end up with a tattoo you are perfectly happy with vanishing.
Now the folks operating the laser removal centers may not be real happy about it. I have had my forearm lasered 3 times from elbow to wrist, all the way around and my work is still visible. It is very, very light... but still visible.
I am lucky and know the people with the laser very well, so my removal sessions are free, but depending where you go laser removal costs anywhere from $200-$400 per session (and my whole forearm takes about 20 minutes to go over). Losing those extra sessions will hurt them.
