The KISS Elder thread over in Customs reminded me about Fridays. I have a few grainy, low quality episodes on DVD that I got from IOffer years ago. Have good copies ever surfaced anywhere? The musical guests were as good or better than the rest of the show in a lot of cases.

Shout Factory did have all the season 1 shows streaming on their Roku channel last I checked.
I made it through one. If SNL was Mad magazine, Fridays was Crazy.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

I always liked "FRIDAYS," even if it was basically SNL lite. If memory serves, they had a young lady on there by the name of Melanie Chartoff, who I remember having a major celeb-crush on! And holy crap, I completely forgot that's where Michael Richards got his start, too!Last edited by emeraldknight47; Jun 27, '16, 12:24 PM.sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.Comment

I think it's on Hulu too. I remember watching the Andy Kaufman "meltdown" episode. And Michael Richards mean kid playing army men was hilarious.
Add me to that Melanie Chartoff crush parade!Comment

I'd only ever seen the Andy Kaufman sketch. Loading up the Shout Factory link now to watch more.
Probably says everything that for the most part, Andy's stunt is generally the only thing about the show that survives in the larger cultural memory.Last edited by samurainoir; Jun 28, '16, 2:13 PM.Comment

Seems like I remember a lot more drug culture stuff on Fridays compared to SNL. Wasn't there like a science guy who kept screaning " Take a PILL!"? Been awhile since I watched a full episode.Comment
