MJ or Prince? Who was your guy ?

I was referring to the music being sexy, just to be clear! LOL!

Now, I'm not sure if you're just joking a bit on what you just posted... meaning, if you really thought I might be implying you meant the artist's sexiness OUTside of the music... well, I'll offer that, now that you mention it, I think it's a fine between the sexiness of the artist and the sexiness of the music the artist is making.

I realize it could have been taken either way, but I was focusing on the music vs the person even though it's all part of the same package.

If MJ or Prince themselves is sexier is a different thread on some other board and I'm starting to regret I even brought it up! Haha!

I'll remind all of the thread title which communicates an assessment of ANY thing that makes/made MJ/Prince "your guy"----whatever that means.

In my best Seinfeld voice: "Not that there's anything wrong with that."

That said---I can't help but rehash what I said in the last post...

While my original intent with addressing your view was purely a reference to the music vibe, I then stopped myself and realized it's not that simple... whether or not one believes an artist is "sexy" or has sexiness "in" their music is going to change from person to person and artist to artist----

...what I think DOESN'T change is that if one sees a certain amt. of sexiness in an artist's music, there's usually an accompanying amount seen in their overall persona---and not their "visual look" alone---- this goes beyond "physical attraction"--- it's more an assessment of "Does this artist represent what is sexy to you?"----"physical attraction" being one of many possible descriptors there. COULD be there----or maybe NOT be there, I mean.

I think Mick Jagger sings, moves, talks and overall ACTS very, very sexy.

That said: Me no physically attracted to him

Me no want "Satisfaction".

No want Mick to "Start Me Up"

No want "19th Nervous Breakdown"

I have to go with MJ. I know the whole family from way back. When I used to go to SDCC I would schedule and extra week. Half the time was before SDCC where I would visit old friends before the con. After the con I would then go to the ranch and speed time with MJ and a few other stars I knew. I never really listen to Prince, I cannot tell you why. I did listen to the Batman CD for months.

To me that's like comparing Neil Diamond and Neil Young, sure they have the first same name but I like both of them for different reasons.

Anyhow, I was 9 when Thriller came out. So, at that time, MJ was huge for me. He lost me after bad, but I loved "Of The Wall", "Thriller" and "Bad." Back then, I was too young to really appreciate Prince for the great musician he was. In saying that, I did like his songs quite a bit.

I liked Michael Jackson during his 'Off the Wall' and 'Thriller' records. By the time he released 'Bad', he was off my list because he just got too...weird. Prince was almost in the same way. I liked him from the albums 1999 to Purple Rain. Like Thriller and Jackson, I got pretty burned out with him after Purple Rain. By that time he was overexposed, so when he released "Around the world in a day", I couldn't really digest another media assault of videos and new tunes. They were both great artists in their heyday, but I never saw or heard anything after those moments that matched that initial rush of fame.

I always preferred Prince. He seemed cooler as an individual and he took more chances with his work. Something in the water (Does not compute) from 1999 is as new wave as anything from Duran Duran, Devo, Flock of seagulls ever did. If he wanted to do any style of music he would've been one of the best in any genre.

Prince for me. Completely different class altogether IMO. Never really got the whole MJ thing myself.
