Captain Trousers - I love how you've documented all the changes to your desk area over the years. These kinds of documentary photos are great, and I sometimes wish I had put more thought into doing more of that. It's the kind of thing you don't tend to think about until after the fact: "hey, I wish I had a photo of that place I lived in/that thing I had/that car I drove/etc." I know how valuable to me the precious few photos I have of childhood toys and such are, and how I wish I had more of them...but I often don't think about documenting the here and now, because it seems too "modern". And then 10 years down the road I wish I had documented more.
I guess it comes down to the fact that even though we spend a lot of time attempting to preserve or revisit the "golden age" of the past or our childhood, the present can actually be just as good or better sometimes.
