I'm looking for a Free Video Editor...

I've tried reading various Google Articles about different Free Video Editors and to be honest, I've had little success getting what I want done.

Can anyone recommend a good free Video Editor that they have used and/or decent articles that would help.

I'm looking for a Windows Application more then a Web Site Tool to do some simple splicing & fades, audio editing, & PowerPoint Slide inserts.

    Open to Any Suggestions.

    Thanx in Advance.

    ~ Tom

Microsoft Movie Maker is great for the price, which is nothing. It does the basics and it's intuitive.

Gonna assume Windows Movie Maker doesn't fit the bill?

        I don't believe it's available or on Windows 10 Systems...but I could be wrong.

          ...OK...

Though Movie maker is NOT part or certified for Windows 10...it seems you can install it & it functions:

Gonna give this a try...Still Open to any more suggestions.

          Thanx

This link talks about how to get Windows Essentials (which contains WMM, which I see you've found), but also suggests a free alternative called Filmora..

No Windows Movie Maker on Windows 10? No worry! You can follow this Windows Movie Maker tutorial to check it on your Windows 10 and find the best Windows Movie Maker alternative software.

I started a video editing thread last year when I was trying to transfer and edit a massive VHS transfer into mp4 on YT.. one of the warnings I was given was that video editing freeware is notorious for mal/bloatware, so be careful. Pay close attention to what you're agreeing to during install..

you should also let us know what form of file your input is and what type of file your desired output would be (dvd, mkv, etc)
