That is a good one, but I'd probably go with Valleri.

I like all the ones listed so far a lot, but this is the one I probably go to the most:

I'm going to see the Monkees at the Louisville Palace this Friday and can't wait. I have to say "Good Times" (for me) is one of the best records they've ever done. I listen to that entire record and my favorite song changes almost daily. For now I would say this my favorite...

              Steppin' Stone is great too.

I also love this Nilsson/Monkees song. Very joyful and soothing to me:

You need to read the Wiki entry on this song, if you don't already know what it's about.

This is super hard, but I'd have to say it's between Randy Scouse Git and Auntie's Municipal Court.

This will change tomorrow I'm sure.

Ha! I was just wearing my Monkees on tour t-shirt yesterday!

I also have way too many faves but I will list the top 5 as well:

                    1) For Pete's Sake
                    2)I'm Not Your Stepping Stone
                    3) Forget That Girl
                    4) She
                    5) I'm A Believer
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

I really love this new song as well. Very Dylan-esque. The lyrics are excellent.

                        Goin' Down
                        Randy Souse Git

All immediately spring to mind. On the new album, I really enjoy She Makes Me Laugh . . . they lyrics are a little too intentionally goofy, but it's a great tune with a catchy refrain and the song just makes me smile when I hear it.

First song that comes to my mind is 'Pleasant Valley Sunday'. Just love that song. 'Mary Mary' is also a favorite. There are so many...
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                          The beauty that surrounds them
                          Isn't it a pity".

Oh no, is there a dark and depraved background to this song that's going to make it super depressing to me now?!

Obviously I know the sexual innuendo in the lyrics (and they're also pretty sexist), but I don't if that's what you mean. I can't find much info on Wiki about it for some reason.

"Some have interpreted the lyrics as being about a gang bang. In the liner notes to the CD's 1995 release it is stated that producer Lester Sill was angered to discover this."

Hid the offensive term, just highlight it to see. I need to find the longer piece I read about the song, thought it was on Wiki, but can't seem to find it.
